Vintage Reindeer Hunter Enamel Norwegian Collectible Art Plate
This is a wonderful decorative wall plate from the AWF (Arnold Wiig Fabrikker) pottery company of Norway. The piece features a hunter in traditional Lapp garb pulling in an Elk/Moose/Reindeer on a icy landscape with mountains in the distance and a full Red Moon. The stylized design and the technique used were very popular during the Mid-Century Modern period. The piece is crafted on matte black, the outlines of the image are done using the Scraffito technique. The enamel colors are applied by hand. The rim is unglazed. The back of the plate is signed, measures approximately 12 x 7 inches, is in very good condition.
